Jack and Diane meet up in front of the elevator at the end of the day, and start discussing how Jack's meeting with his supervisor went.
Diane: So, how did it go?
Diane:
Jack: It went very smoothly.
Jack:
Diane: Did you get the raise that you were looking for?
Diane:
Jack: Yeah, I got my raise, and he told me that I would also be getting a year-end bonus in January.
Diane: That's fantastic! How did you bring it up in your conversation?
Diane:
Jack: Well, I didn't beat around the bush. I just told him straight up that I was long overdue for a raise.
Diane: And he agreed?
Diane:
Jack: Well, first he checked my employee profile on his computer, and then he called his supervisor and got it approved.
Diane: I'm really surprised that everything was done so quickly!
Diane:
Jack: Me, too! I should have asked for one sooner.
Jack:
Diane: Maybe I'll try my luck and ask my boss for a raise…. Just kidding!
Jack: You can try and ask for one next year. Let's grab something to eat.
Jack:
Diane: Yeah, I'm starving!
Diane:
