On Wednesday, July 30th, a rare 1913 Liberty Head nickel lost since 1962 was found. 3)Officials from a New Hampshire company that buys and sells rare coins wanted the nickel very badly. Last May, the company offered $1 million for the nickel plus an extra $10,000 to be the first to see it!

Liberty Head nickels were produced from 1883 until 1912. In 1913, the Liberty Head nickel was 1)replaced by the Indian or Buffalo nickel. That same year, five Liberty Head nickels were 2)illegally produced. Nobody knew they 3)existed until 1919, when someone placed an 4)ad asking to buy the rare coins.

All five nickels were found in 1924. They were bought and sold many times over the next few 1)decades. In 1962, one of these five coins was lost. While four of the nickels were known to be either in private 2)collections or in museums, the fifth nickel was 3)missing until now.
